LEADER DEVELOPMENT
Leaders have a profound impact on the organisation or teams they lead. Yet the daily crises, the short-term objectives, and the constantly changing external environment, together with the chronic stress that comes from holding a leadership role, can distract even the best from achieving their personal aspiration of becoming an effective leader. To complicate matters many executives are still promoted to the leadership ranks without the technical skills or support. Kemp Street Partners offers both, and works with leaders to hone their leadership skills and increase their impact.
TEAM EFFECTIVENESS
Leading or being a member of a team is hard work. Teams can lack purpose or direction, have complex rules of engagement, less than perfect communication and be either confrontational or conflict avoidant. Polling team members for their impressions of the team, and/or hosting a team development workshop or team building session, is just the beginning. Truly effective teams take time and commitment to develop and the leader often needs ongoing support. Kemp Street Partners works with both leaders and their teams to release the incremental performance that a real team brings.
CAREER DECISIONS
Whether just embarking on a career or many years into one, deciding what next can be a daunting task. We find ourselves torn, often subconsciously, between what would would most love to do and what we think we should do. Arriving in a new role/organisation should be an energising experience but more often it is extremely difficult and stressful; a journey paved with invisible obstacles and unwritten rules. Kemp Street Partners helps individuals gain clarity around their career direction and put in place the building blocks to achieve their aspirations.
PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS
We all get feedback occasionally, whether from friends or colleagues informally or through annual performance reviews at work. Most focus on the gaps that we need to deal with or areas for improvement, an approach that has the same impact as a physical threat, invoking a stress response. Making changes to our behaviour, while difficult, need not be a negative experience, driven by a sense of something that we “ought” to do. Kemp Street Partners’ approach leverages signature strengths and the power of the ideal self to help clients initiate and sustain change.
