THE IDEA IN BRIEF

In order to be truly impactful leaders on a sustainable basis, we need to start by ensuring that we are leading ourselves effectively. How we show up is foundational to being able to lead others. This nine-week program is designed to help seasoned leaders inspect the impact of their leadership approach, uncover internal narratives they hold about themselves and others, and learn how to manage their own behaviours in order to have the maximum positive impact on others.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The format is designed to be highly personalised, interactive and introspective, but also very practical, with techniques that can be implemented and practised immediately. It is broken into three parts: Knowing Self, Managing Self and Leading Others. A one-hour orientation session is followed by six 2.5-hour workshops, interspersed with three Peer Learning Group Meetings.

The program is capped at 24 participants, but can be run with groups as small as 12. Optional 1:1 coaching is available at an additional cost.

  • Content covered includes:
    • Understanding leadership and the impact of various leadership approaches
    • How our internal narratives drive how we lead and what we can do to mitigate negative impacts
    • Motivation and triggers – ours and other people’s
    • Trust and boundary setting – how do we create a safe place for others to trust us?
    • The perils of giving advice
    • Impactful influencing
    • Feedback that ‘sticks’ – receiving, soliciting and providing feedback
    • Coaching for empowering others 
  • A Learning Journal is provided, containing all the content with spaces for exercises and reflection.
  • Peer Learning Group Meetings (groups of three hosted by a Kemp Street Partners’ coach) to reflect, share insights and gain valuable additional perspectives, and help people commit to action.
  • 1:1 meetings with the participant’s leader before and after the program are encouraged to ensure alignment on objectives and support the embedding of new behaviours.
  • Optional additional reading is provided for those interested in a ‘deeper dive’ into the content.

 

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM?

This is a private program: it is designed for experienced, senior leaders of leaders in a single organisation across multiple business areas and/or geographies, and suits leaders keen to optimise their leadership effectiveness. Participants can be from any sector: Corporate, Private, Professional Services, Not-for-Profit, Education, Government etc., but ideally should be of equivalent seniority
